The Power of Numbers
Digital Artist

A photo illustrating the strength of US ‘art policing’ – sent in to us today by our reporter from St Paul, Minnesota, USA.

Police this morning made a very swift response to a piece that was underway in a parking lot in the centre of the city by local digital artists, who were hoping to achieve a ‘world first’ by highlighting their work to a global audience.

The inexperience of the digital artists, who were making this piece in broad daylight, led to their swift arrest by local police. Chief Thomas Smith of the St Paul PD made this statement today in an interview with PSM… "We simply wish to confine digital art to it’s rightful place, on computer screens and within Second Life…we have been studying the work of your London Metropolitan Art Police and want to discourage unofficial digital art in our city, before it has any chance to take hold. We hope that our actions today will send out a strong message to all digital artists, wherever they are located, who may be contemplating similar pieces."

With thanks to Jeremy Noble at Uberculture, for sharing his photo with us.
